The Blue Diamond

The last class was wonderful. There was seven apresentations. Jacson and me were the first to present. We talked about a mystery story with Serlock Holmes: The Blue Diamond. It's a good story but it's a hard story to present to people. But we had other presentations: The inspector of School, Two Sisters, The fall of the house Usher, The Miracle worker and The road to Migowi. And the end of class, Larissa talked about her unforgettable vacation in São Paulo... We reviewed the use of "will and going to". After that, we saw how put the vebs in the right form: ing, to + Infinitive or Infinitive without to. I had one doubt about the sequence of verbs in the same phase. So I've enjoyed listening that in the class. It was awesome!

We will have the final test next saturday, so good luck to everybody!

people, this week I'm very ocuped, I have tests and works in university. Oh my God! Are many things, but I remember as is important try my english and to write here is a good option for this. Our class yestarday was cool. Our teacher gave us the hint about a site and a book to perfect our pronunciation. That is very good. We saw the use of some expressions, for example, where to use "a lot of" and "much/many". Another topic very valid was the Past Continuous, because I had some doubts that were explained. I discovered that the Friday night is not the best time for remember the activities from a week ago, mainly when you are very tired. However…it’s necessary.
I thought the class very good. I already said here, I like the activities with a partner, because we have more freedom and we can remember some expressions together. Also, I believe we can exchange the knowledge more easily (I think the same for group activity).
Now, I’m a few slow, so is only this!

Hey!

Well, the last class was full of oral exercises and we spoke about our vacations and another things with our classmates. These moments are important because I don't have no one to practice my speech in English during my week, then I can train just writing and reading. Because of this, I need to take every opportunity to express myself verbally in English, but I still feel shy to do it. I'm not very shy in Portuguese, but in English my shyness, kept unconsciously, appears. =P

Furthermore, we reviewed the 'question words', like who/what/which/where/how, and we read a text about a guy who helped the thieves to steal his home.

In this class, I didn't get gifts like candy or a CD, but I hope me and my group can both win together new competitions. ahahah Let's play a game, Tynha! =D I'm kidding...

In This class, I arrived late because a car hit the lamp post and the lamp post fell in the street, soon there was a big congetion and I missed an hour.

When I arrived the first activity not finished and I still met Zé Bim, Justin Bieber and Xandy. (haha)

I had some difficultly on listen's activity. I liked the last activity when we make a history with some pictures.

Well, I have not had time to post on the class of the day 11/09. It was very nice, had a contest to test our abilities to run, HaHaHaHa. We had to read a text that was out of the room and go dictating to our partner. Won the pair that wrote everything right, as it was in the text. This activity was very good, as it tested our memory and at the same time learned some new words. The teacher also has a full list of irregular verbs and did the pronunciation of each word.
Last Saturday, the teacher reviewed sentences using the past, often used phrases to talk about the holidays. Later I talked with my partner about our vacation using these phrases discussed in the classroom. It was very valuable because they are phrases used in everyday life and learned a lot from them. We also interpret a text the student book. Text very interesting and rich in vocabulary!

In this saturday, we had a review about the simple past. Everybody could remember the sentences with questions word (what, which, where, how, how long, etc).

Mrs. Urpia divided the class: My partner and me talked about our vacation. Imagination a lot. Luan sad that he likes sleep on the vacation... No way... It's lie!

In the second time, Mrs. Urpia gave us a little text with empty spaces to complete, but we can't finish because we didn't have time.

The Running

In the last saturday, we started with a gymkhana that showed the differences between an exciting conversantion and a boring conversation. Then, We did a task about the same matter in the book. We had another gymkhana that tested our abilities like runners. After this, we could see a full list with the irregular verbs, his written forms and his pronunciation. -Here, I must speak about the Ms. Urpia's patience in to read all list. I think this care is very important for our leraning. Also, the teacher's creativity, in every class, when she do a game or gymkhana for become the knowledge exciting and funny. I liked the class, because we had a lot of information.

Unfortunately, in the last class, I arrived late ( so tired), because I was in a traffic jam, too. - I think in that day it had traffic jam in every places of the city (=O) - So, for me, the class started in the middle of the dynamics and I couldn't follow this activity. After this, We made a task (listening and speaking) in the book. When We returned of the interval, We built, in group, an history about the disastrous and unhappy robbers. My partners (Viviane and Luan) and me used our creativity and the history became a big mess. hehehe

In the party

Now I'm sure. My class only has artists ....
Mrs. Urpia created a very fun way to interact: The setting was a party and everyone was eccentric personalities. I, for one, got the role of Angelina Jolie - and I liked it, of course.
The dynamics was this: Each one would have to talk about their characteristics and the others would discover that until all the party knew each other.
At the party, the people I most remember were Ivete, Justin, Silvio Santos.
In the second stage, we got shuffled scenes of a crime and we had to build the story - the most logical way. Unfortunately, I could not stay until the end because I had to leave early.
I think the class had fewer people than usual. PS: Dhiego, I missed you ...

About the fourth class:

In the begin, We spoke about our fears, and I could learn the expression "afraid of". In the second moment of the class, Mrs. Urpia divided the class in three groups. After this, in a first time, We could train an alternative form of communication using the corporal expression and making mime, I liked it (but I wait don't need use =D). Also, I could train the reading and the comprehension with my group for we partook of a gymkhana. I liked the "competition", BECAUSE ( I wont forget this word. haha =D) We should think fast about the answers and we could test our "automatic knowledge". Only this!

P.S.: Dear Diego, We know who are the true winners. hahaha (By Vaniane)

We reviewed about Present Continuous, It was very, very important, to remember is ever important. After the break We practiced and we toyed to speak English in a game than my team lost, :/ . In the last class we had fun disputing the Gymkhana. My team was 'Clanoel' (from Claudia until Manoel, our classmates).

As far as our victory I think it was fair! We were the best in this competition (Fast, without making any mistakes). Congratulations to Clanoel team! \o/\o/\o/

Moreover, we reviewed the question "What are u afraid of?" and everybody could tell to the group about their fears. I said that I'm afraid of the dark, and it's partially true. I have more strong fears but I'll keep it to myself. =D

In the fourth class, We replied a question: What are you afraid of? And We had many answers. Although some people have said that is not afraid of anything. I don't believe... Well, the teacher, for example, has afraid of street crime. And she took advantage of the question to speak about her sad experience. After, we had a conversation in pairs to getting information about lifestyle's one another. We review about present continuous. And we did make a game to translation deed in the present continuous. It was very funny. Also, We did make a Gymkhana with three teams, my team was JACAULA. We didn't win but I liked of Gymkhana any way.

Last Saturday, the teacher began correcting the student's exercise book, which I think is very important. Then she had a momentum which was very cool to imagine what their partner liked. Then she had a dynamic that was to mimic, which was very valid, since enriched my vocabulary. Had several new words I learned. At the end of the lesson was another activity that was very fast, but it was interesting.
Well, I'm really liking the teacher's teaching method.

I've liked of the class by Mrs. Urpia because we canc speak more than in the last semester. In the last class we keep the review about present continous. After we played. It was very funny, mainly when Luan and me interpret the verb "flirt". Everybody laughed. in the second time, after the break, we played for know which team was the more fast. Every body wo candys. Almost Dhiego killed me. Hey-day! I'm OK!!! Unfortunately, my group - JACAULA - did'nt win, but I got happy because we had small mistakes. Mrs. Urpia, you're a bad girl, sure! The time passed very fast.

PS: I didn't know many verb and expressions that now I know. For example: giver charity, flying a kite and others.

This saturday was full of exercises. Very good! In start the teacher corrected the homework. After she started the dynamics. First a conversation in pairs about: WHAT I THINK MY PARTNER. Very good. After, a game of mimics. Very funny. And to finish, also a funny and disordered gymkana(!1) between three groups: CLANOEL, my group, JACAULA and VANIANE. The class was very good for me because I spoke and listened a lot and I got to take many doubts.

In this class, We saw some important expressions for day to day and her different uses. I liked the activity about the 'famous neighbor', because we could create some informations about him and I trained my oral expression. In another activity, "with a partner", We talked about how the appearance can deceive us; and we used 'I agree' and 'I desagree' about the relatioship between Steve and Mrs. Snell. In another moment, I had difficult in the listening, but when I could follow the text, the history became more clear. I wait make better soon! =D

I enjoyed a lot the last class; we reviewed some social expressions and we had our first oral assessment. About it, I wasn't creative when I wrote about my neighbor Taís Araújo and I think I didn't have a good performance. Anyway, it was worth while.

I didn't know the difference in pronunciation between 'Off' and 'Of', so I had trouble understanding some songs in which both words were together. Now, it's clearer.

We worked in pairs too and we knew the story about Mrs. Snell and her neighbor, Steve. It was a good example about how the same story can have many versions depending who's speaking about it.

Thinking about my oral performance in all activities, I'm sure that I still need to improve my English a lot. It's easier for me writing and reading in English but I had difficulty with listening and specially with speech. You're right, Tynha, I really need to study more! ahahaha

Hi Everybory

Last saturday was our second class and I loved again. We learned new words and talked about neghbor.
We made a very interesting activity on this subject. Everybory had a neighbor, my neighbor was Marcio Garcia, and talk about him.
I think it was our first oral assessment ... I was very nervous!

I liked it, the class was a interesting review. Mainly when the teacher spoke about to use "going to" in the future, very frequent in the movies. The activity was very cool, I'm not very good in mime, but Carla got some phrase right.

Third Class

The last class was very good. We corrected the student book's exercise. After, We saw some social expression and when we'll use these expressions. Now, I know when I use these expressions. We also talked about our neighbors... The teacher has a story of two neighbors. We listened and after talked about life's two neighbors. Well, I have some difficulties but I learn more every class. " Little strokes fell great oaks ." (De grão em grão a galinha enche o papo.)

Hi Class

Well, in last class the teacher we revised some exercises of the student Book. After, we learn new expressions, it was very important to increase vocabulary and improve speech. We talked about "our neighbor", it was good too because I improved my vocabulary and I am trying / I will try advance with my "to speak" than it is not very good . I think than the classes are being very helpful, mainly because I have very, very, very difficulty in to learn english.

In the first time, Mrs. Urpia corrected the exercise with us.

Today, we review the "social expressions". We worked our pronunciation and intonation because it is very important too.

After, we talk about our neighbor: His/Her personality, appearence, habits, likes/dislikes, etc. In my opinion, the most important phrase was: “Never trust appearance”.

In general, the lesson was very nice because I practiced my speak, but my listen continues bad, or I think so.

Hello, Girls and Boys!

The last class we reviewed the verb tenses and though I could remember almost all structures, it was good because I had little contact with english on vacations; so begin a new semester recalling previously learned content was interesting. Now, I want to learn the present perfect tense because I am insecure when I'm writing a setence in which for many reasons I think this verb tense would be more appropriate.

Moreover, I enjoyed my classmates and teacher, Adriana. About her, it's cool her way to make fun our classes and lessons.

First, I want to say that I really enjoyed the blog as a way to expand our contact (to share materials, informations and to estimulate our writing), since we only see on Sartudays. Our last class was very valid for me, because I could remember the tenses, especially the auxiliary simple presente and simple past. While the other tenses were more fresh in my memory. Also like the dynamics, it is a playful way of learning. This is very good.

Hi Guys

I think that every lesson is very important and singular, because I only can speak in English at Saturday.

The last class was very interesting, but I knew all subject: simple present tense, simple past and present continuous. About the future tense, I think that is very easy. I thought the dynamic funny, but I prefer try speak because is difficult talk without words.

The only subject that I didn’t assimilad was the present perfect, but I’ll have time for learn.
